The KAPsi Foundation of Decatur, Inc., (a 501c3 non-profit corporation) that exists essentially as the philanthropic arm of the Decatur (GA) Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. We were founded in September 2001 and are comprised of 10 men and women from the community. The Foundation also assists others in the surrounding communities by providing scholarships for deserving high school students in South DeKalb County.  KAPsi has awarded over $100,000 to male and female in scholarships to college bound students. Many of those awared scholarships have continued their studies at Emory University, Harvard University, Howard University, Georgia Tech, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Albany State University, North Carolina A&T University, Paine College, Princeton University, SCAD, the University of Georgia, and others.

 

KAPsi Foundation historically has made contributions to causes such as: The Women's Resource Center of DeKalb County to combat domestic violence, The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts to name a few. The Foundation supports health seminars for youths to improve teen awareness in areas such as physical fitness, tobacco and drug abuse, and proper dental hygiene.  KAPsi raises funds by sponsoring various events throughout the year, as well as, soliciting and receiving gifts from individual and corporate contributors to make possible grants and scholarships.
